Fall Porch

After being M.I.A. for 6 months, I would like to announce that I am back! And just in time for Fall! We recently went to the local pumpkin patch, Sunnyside Pumpkin Patch, with some close friends and their 4 year old son! Of course, the moms were in Pinterest mode! After filling our cars with picture perfect pumpkins, we headed to Hobby Lobby! Here is what I ended up with:

It's still a work in progress! If you have any tips for me, leave a comment!

Random Fact Thursday

Happy Thursday, everyone! It's almost the weekend! I thought that I would share some random facts to get you through the work day!

The lion used in the original MGM movie logo, killed it's trainer and two assistants the day after the logo was filmed!

Under SOPA, you could get 5 years in prison for uploading a Michael Jackson song. That's 1 year longer than the doctor who killed him!

The first man to survive going over Niagara Falls later died by slipping on an orange peel!

You would have to walk for 7 straight hours to burn off a Super Sized Coke, french fries, and Big Mac!

It would take about 1,000 years to watch every video currently on YouTube!

British people are drunk in 76% of their Facebook photos!

99% of people backspace their whole password when they mess up just 1 letter!

"Vanilla" comes from the Latin word "Vagina"

Fake Patty's Day

Good Afternoon, All!
I just wanted to check in while the Little Monster is napping! What a gorgeous day! I don't know about you guys, but Carson and I are going to the driving range this afternoon! Mamma got a new club! *Whootie Whoooo* There is a 99.9% chance that we will end the afternoon with Shamrock Shakes! I live for those shakes! Speaking of St. Patty's Day... Today is Fake Patty's Day in Manhattan, KS! This is one of my favorite holidays! A 5k to start the morning, followed  by green beer, friends, crazy shenanigans, and good food! I couldn't make it this year due to my date being under age but I'm crossing my fingers that by next year we can get Carson a fake id! (I'm kidding, People! Don't get your "Irish I was Drunk" t-shirts in a bundle!)

I have been working on Carson's 1st birthday party a lot this week. I MIGHT have been planning this party for the last 355 days...but who's counting?! The theme is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and I am bursting with ideas! I will show you the details of the party at the end of the month. Every time I bring something else home or start a new project for the party, my husband just shakes his head a walks away. He should be used to by now, right?

Well, the Little Monster is ready for destruction, so check back tomorrow when I will post some pictures of our weekend! And don't forget, please spay and neuter your pets! Have a happy and safe FAKE Patty's Day!

Irish you a Happy Birthday!

A co-worker and close friend of mine, Andrew or as is most famously known AK, is in Belfast, Ireland working. AK and I started working at KWU 3 days apart! We had a couple undergrad classes together so I knew that us working together was going to be T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!! Not only is AK a close friend and co-worker, he is my Boo! Some of you may be thinking to yourselves "Your boo? Really?" Yes, Ak is my Boo. I cannot remember why we started calling each other this but it stuck. Anywho, today is Boo's birthday! So in spirit of the magical day that a Mexican stork dropped you on my doorstep, "Irish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOO!!!!"

Valentine's Day

Ladies and Gentleman...I'M BACK! I want to apologize for my extended absence, we have had a busy past few weeks!

I would like to begin this post by wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! My husband and I are not into the gushy candlelight dinners and sentimental gifts version of V-Day. We are more "clever yet witty gifts and take-out Chinese food" kind of people! So this year my husband surprised me at work with a gift--a new blow dryer and a necklace that I have been eying at Target! You may be thinking to yourself "that sounds like a random V-Day gift" but I love it! My blow dryer has been on the fritz, only blowing cold air so I have been using...wait for it...a small space heater to dry my hair! Yes, I know, I'm a genius! The necklace was a gift from Carson! He has great taste!

I would next like to recap my last few weeks with a few photos! So hop into your Flux Capacitor equipped DeLorean, accelerate to a precise 88mph, and lets travel back in time!

A baby shower from my cousin that is due in March!- The Mother-to-be with the hostesses (Cousin K-Lee, Cousin Katie, Sister Lynnea, and myself)

Carson enjoying the warm winter weather that we have been having in Kansas!

Carson helping Daddy play the guitar!

I made my husband a golf themed birthday cake for his 26th birthday! (Thank you Pinterest!) My father-in-law made the flag while drinking Sailor Jerry's...not too shabby!

It was almost Carson's bedtime, but he wanted to help Daddy blow out his candles.

The in-laws and some good friends hanging out at the "Lower Deck", the in-laws basement bar!

One of my dearest co-workers, Andrew, is participating in a work exchange program for 3 months! He is currently in Belfast, Ireland working, and Karen (who is from Belfast) is now working in our office!

I made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast on Sunday, knowing that I wouldn't have time to make them during the work week!
Carson's new "kicks" came in!

Tiny Toms is grey! LOVE THEM!!!

Grammy and Papa bought Carson a new ride for Valentine's Day! He's going to pick up so many chicks...
We have a STREAKER!!!

We were all exhausted after all of that excitement!

One Little Monkey

A few weeks ago I decided to redo a lamp that I had in Carson's room. It was just too plain for me-white base with a white shade...BORING! So, thanks to Pinterest I spent a few hours hot gluing buttons to the lamp shade! I spray painted the base with a brushed nickel spray paint and this was the end result!

We have had the craziest Winter weather this year! Snow one day, 60 degrees for a week, and then temperatures in 20's the next! We try to take advantage of the warmer weather whenever possible--So Carson (or "Little Man" as I will often call him) and I decided to take a ride on his Plasma Car.

Please ignore the stacks of boxes and storage containers in the garage...we're in the process of packing up our house for the move!

And since it is late on Sunday night and I have a serious problem with waking up when my alarm goes off, I will just post some pictures from the last week!

My sister bought Little Man this monkey hat last week...now he refuses to take it off!

Favorite Friday

It's Favorite Friday: beauty edition!

Let's start off with the eos Smooth Sphere! I love the Lemon Drop SPF 15! It makes finding your lip balm easy to find in your Mary Poppins, never ending carpet bag! And the best part, it's under $5!

Next up is the AMAZING Clarisonic Mia. Mine was a gift from my mom for Christmas and I fell in love with it! It's great for at home use and just the right size to pack for weekend getaways! It's a bit pricey ($120) but worth every penny!

I color my hair A LOT, usually once every 3 or 4 weeks. This may not sound like a lot, but when you color your hair as blonde as I do, there is a significant amount of damage that occurs. My AMAZING hairdresser, Amanda, suggested this: it's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product! After I shower, I towel dry my hair and then in the palm of my hand I spray the product 6-8 times and then work it into my hair! It doesn't leave your hair
greasy or weigh it down at all! A must have for everyone! ($12)

I am obsessed with Clinique products. My mom has always worn their products, so naturally I followed in her footsteps. I have oily skin and even though I'm 25, I still have break outs. Clinique Emergency Gel-Lotion is a zit's worst enemy! Before you go to bed, just dab a bit of the product on the huge red warrior that is thriving on your face, and I guarantee that when you wake up you will notice a HUGE difference! ($15)

Thanks for stopping by and check back on Sunday for "Sunday Funday"!
